Notre Dame’s Hannah Hidalgo is one of the best players in the nation, and Wooden knows this.

Although the Irish were ultimately bounced out of the tournament by the UConn Huskies in an Elite Eight matchup, Hidalgo was masterful — which she was in every game for Notre Dame during its postseason.
A lot was made of the snub by the AP 1st Team All-American list as well as the Naismith Award, but hose snubs make them look foolish as opposed to any criticism of Hannah’s game. The Wooden All-American team isn’t making that same mistake. Hidalgo is one of 10 players to earn the honor. Hidalgo became the first player in program history to be named to the Wooden Award All-America team three times in her career. The standout has already been named the ACC Player of the Year and ACC Defensive Player of the Year along with USBWA All-America and USA Today All-America First Teams.
