The Oklahoma Sooners beat Wichita State on a historic night from freshman Kendall Wells.

The Oklahoma Sooners moved to 35-3 on the season with a 12-3 run-rule win over Wichita State after a seven-game road trip. Kendall Wells hit her 27th home run of the season, breaking the SEC single-season home run record. The Sooners jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning when Kai Minor opened the game with a lead-off walk and advanced to third on Ella Parker's groundout.

Minor later scored on a fielding error by Wichita State, allowing Gabbie Garcia to reach base and Kendall Wells to advance to third. Kasidi Pickering, who went 1-for-12 against LSU, doubled to bring in Garcia and Wells to make it 3-0 and then scored on Ailana Agbayani's single to make it 4-0. Sydney Berzon got the start and threw two scoreless innings to open the game, but ran into trouble in the third.

Berzon allowed a solo home run to Ausha Moore and a two-run shot to Kammie Smith to cut the Sooners' lead to one. Berzon's night was done after the third. Audrey Lowry came in and threw three scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and striking out one to move to 16-1 on the season.

After being held scoreless in the fourth, the Sooners got solo home runs from Pickering and Agbayani to extend their lead to 6-3 in the fifth. It was Pickering's 14th home run of the year and Agbayani's sixth of the season. In the sixth, the Sooners ran away from the Shockers with a six-run inning to earn the run-rule victory.
