The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to become a staple of football during the holidays, as Andy Reid's team has dipped its toe in the water over the last few seasons.
With the Chiefs playing the Denver Broncos on Christmas Day last year, a game they lost 20-13, the feeling is that the franchise wants to make one of those time slots their own. Of course, the league has to sign off on it, and much of it may hinge on how the Chiefs are viewed as contenders in 2026. After all, the NFL doesn't want to have teams struggling on the biggest stage.
But Chiefs president Mark Donovan revealed that he hopes Kansas City can continue playing on Christmas Day. "We'd love to play on Christmas," Donovan said via ESPN's Nate Taylor . "It's a unique position.
From a marketing and brand standpoint, when you think about the movie that we did, our Foolish Club studio business and the opportunity to really continue to cement our ownership of Christmas as a holiday, our brand with that is really powerful. "We respect that the league wants to spread it around. We get it.
