Legendary golfer Tiger Woods announced on Tuesday that he will step away from golf and public life in general to "seek treatment and focus on my health. " Woods was arrested last week and ultimately charged in part for driving under the influence with property damage after a rollover car crash in Florida. The golfer reportedly told police he was looking down at his phone before the accident.
Police allege they found two hydrocodone pills in Woods' pants pocket after responding to the scene. "I'm committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally," Woods wrote in his statement. "I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.
