Dolphins GM makes it clear where he stands on Miami's best player
The Miami Dolphins got rid of some of their best players this offseason, but they want at least one to be around for the foreseeable future.
The Miami Dolphins have moved on from some of their best players over the last six months or so, trading Jaelan Phillips, Jaylen Waddle and Minkah Fitzpatrick, and releasing Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb. Now, Miami's roster is lacking in top-end talent, so the guys who are left are those they want to build around going forward. At the top of that list is running back De'Von Achane, who Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan spoke glowingly about this week at the league meetings in Arizona.
“Achane is a very, very, very important piece of what we’re going to do moving forward,” Sullivan said. “He’s a building block for us. It is a priority for us to get a deal done with him in the coming weeks, months.
” After the trades that they made earlier this offseason, it's not surprising that teams have been calling about Achane. However, Sullivan makes it clear that he has no intention of moving on from the former second-round pick. “My job is always to listen,” Sullivan said.
“Nobody’s untouchable in this business. I don’t believe in that, because you never know who’s on the other side of the phone, what they’re going to offer, but there’s zero effort on my end to move Achane. “I’m very excited about him and the future of the Dolphins.
