A new Amazon Prime documentary, The Masters Wait , has just been released, charting the Northern Irishman’s 14-year journey to finally winning at Augusta in 2025. The film revisits everything from his painful collapse in 2011 to his eventual triumph in a dramatic playoff against Justin Rose.
But one key figure is notably absent throughout. This has led Dan Rapaport to explain why he has so much respect for McIlroy’s long-time caddie, Harry Diamond. Dan Rapaport says Harry Diamond deserves respect despite criticism Rapaport pointed out that Diamond does not feature in the documentary at all, something he believes says a lot about his character.
“Watched the Rory documentary on Amazon Prime last night. Nothing from his caddie, Harry Diamond. So much respect,” Rapaport tweeted.
“He simply refuses to talk to media under any circumstances. Gets so much unwarranted hate, shows up for his guy, couldn’t care less about talking. ” Diamond has often been a figure of debate among fans, with some questioning his role alongside McIlroy.
