Another transfer portal target emerges for Mark Pope and Kentucky
Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats could have found a second transfer portal player to target this offseason.
The college basketball transfer portal doesn't open for another week, but plenty of players have already announced their intent to enter it. Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats , meanwhile, are certainly looking at the available players, and deciding who to target. It was reported that they had interest in Butler guard Finley Bizjack , and now it seems that Central Arkansas guard Camren Hunter could also be in their sights.
Hunter is a 6'3" guard who started his career at Central Arkansas, and averaged 14 points per game as a freshman. After missing a season due to injury, he transferred to Wisconsin, but didn't play much, and went back to Central Arkansas. Last season, he averaged 21 points and 4 rebounds per game.
He also made 37% of his three-pointers. Jacob Polacheck of Kentucky Sports Radio is reporting that the Wildcats will target Hunter once the portal opens on Apr. 7.
That would require him being given an extra year of eligibility after completing four years already. Kentucky is expected to have quite a bit of turnover this offseason. A disappointing season and changes with the team's financing will likely result in roster overhaul.
