ESPN Star Returning to Baseball for One Special Game

Now with ESPN, Joe Buck may have shifted off of baseball and primarily to football, but the former voice of the World Series will be back for a special game in a couple of weeks. Buck will broadcast the Los Angeles Dodgers’ matchup with the New York Mets on April 15, which honors Jackie Robinson. Joining Buck will be two local broadcasters, Orel Hershiser of the Dodgers and Ron Darling of the Mets, for the game, as reported by Drew Lerner of Awful Announcing .

Between 1996 and 2021, he called 24 World Series and 22 All-Star Games for Fox. In 2022, however, he left Fox for ESPN to helm “Monday Night Football. ” As part of that transition, he stepped back from covering baseball, as he “feel[s] like I’ve done all I could do there.
