McCutcheon selects Mike Fenters, formerly at Maconaquah as next head football coach.
LAFAYETTE โ McCutcheon found a proven winner to fill the void left in its football program after Josh Strasser resigned after four seasons. McCutcheon announced the hiring of Mike Fenters on Tuesday afternoon, a move that will be made official during a Tippecanoe School Corporation meeting on Wednesday, April 8. Fenters comes to McCutcheon following two seasons at Maconaquah where he led the program to a combined record of 20-3 including the school's first 3A sectional title in 2024 and finished 12-1.
That 2024 season saw Maconaquah average 41. 2 points per game and led Indiana in scoring defense while stunning West Lafayette in the IHSAA sectional 3A final 17-14. Along with his football success comes the fact that Fenters family has history in the Lafayette area dating back to Indiana's first professional team The Villagers based out of Pine Village.
