Georgia basketball guard announces return for next season
The Georgia Bulldogs are expected to lose (at least) three players to the NCAA transfer portal when it opens on April 7
Georgia Bulldogs guard Marcus "Smurf" Millender does not plan to enter the NCAA transfer portal and will return to Georgia for the 2026-2027 college basketball season. Millender's return is a boost for Georgia, who is looking to make a third straight NCAA Tournament appearance next year. "Georgia is where I want to be," Millender said upon announcing his return .
Millender transferred to Georgia from UTSA after spending the first year of his basketball career with South Alabama. The junior started eight games for Georgia in 2025-2026 and appeared in 33 games. He was a key player in Georgia's rotation and averaged 12.
