Dodgers Give Positive Gavin Stone Injury Update
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts provided an encouraging update on injured starting pitcher Gavin Stone on Monday. Stone made just one start during spring training in his return from a season-long recovery after undergoing shoulder reconstruction surgery before landing back on the sidelines with shoulder soreness. He threw just one inning in his spring training outing, but struck out two batters and didn’t allow a baserunner.
“The last I read a couple days ago, he has no symptoms. He’s pain-free,” Roberts said in his postgame press conference Monday. “He is throwing.
I don’t know the distance or when he’s going to be off the mound though. ” When asked further about his progression, Roberts described Stone’s status as “pre-spring training. ” Roberts has been optimistic since Stone’s minor setback, saying the Dodgers “ dodged a bullet ” with his injury.
Stone last pitched for the Dodgers in the regular season in 2024, leading the team in innings despite going down with injury late in the year. He had a 3. 53 ERA through 25 starts spanning 140.
