Georgia football added just one transfer wide transfer receiver this offseason, but he's been slowed by injury this spring. What Kirby Smart said about Isiah Canion.

The player expected to be Georgia football โ€™s most impactful transfer addition on offense is slowed this spring due to injury. Isiah Canion , who moved from Georgia Tech to the rival Bulldogs this offseason, was sidelined with an ankle injury recently. โ€œHeโ€™s dealing with an ankle injury.

Heโ€™s been out for a day or two,โ€ coach Kirby Smart said on Tuesday, March 31. โ€œHe sprained an ankle. Itโ€™s nothing real serious, but heโ€™s dealing with an ankle injury.

Weโ€™ll get him back out there as soon as we can. โ€ The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Canion had 33 catches for 480 yards and 4 touchdowns last season. โ€œHeโ€™s got the ideal body for a receiver,โ€ quarterback Gunner Stockton said when spring practices began.

โ€œHeโ€™s big and heโ€™s really fast. Heโ€™s been a great guy to get to know. I look forward to building that relationship.
