The Miami Dolphins have already signed one quarterback this offseason, but they could still take one early in the 2026 NFL draft.

The Miami Dolphins have already made significant changes to their quarterback room this offseason, releasing former first-round pick Tua Tagovailoa and signing Malik Willis to a three-year deal to take his place. However, there's still a chance that the Dolphins take a quarterback at some point during the upcoming 2026 NFL draft. In fact, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Miami is set to host Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson for a top-30 pre-draft visit coming up.

Simpson, 23, was a five-star recruit out of Westview High School in Martin, Tennessee before committing to Alabama. He spent four seasons with the Crimson Tide, winning the SEC once (2023) and earning All-SEC honors once (2025). During his collegiate tenure, Simpson backed up Bryce Young and Jalen Milroe before earning the starting job in 2025.

In 15 games this season, he completed 64. 5% of his passes for 3,567 yards, 28 touchdowns and five interceptions. At this point in the process, Simpson is projected to be the second quarterback taken in the first round.

Miami may have use their first pick (No. 11 overall) or trade up from their second (No. 30 overall) to grab him.
