Kamehameha alone atop baseball poll; ILH revises softball schedule
Kamehameha collected eight of nine first-place ballots to secure the No. 1 spot in this week’s Honolulu Star-Advertiser Baseball Top 10. The Warriors had another spotless week, edging Saint Louis 3-2 to widen their lead in the ILH.
Kamehameha is 4-0 in league play (13-2 overall). Coming into last week’s games, Saint Louis and Kamehameha were tied at No. 1.
The Crusaders then lost at Mid-Pacific, 6-5, giving up four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. After the loss to Kamehameha, Saint Louis dropped to No. 5.
Mid-Pacific, now in second place in the ILH at 2-0-1, leaped five spots to No. 3. After another wild comeback win at Damon Field, coach Dunn Muramaru’s squad routed ‘Iolani 11-1 on Saturday.
Kailua split its series with then-No. 4 Kaiser, winning 9-1 at the Cougars’ field. Kaiser then went to Kailua and beat the Surfriders, 9-4.
