The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to wait for Aaron Rodgers’ final decision on his future. After a solid 2025 NFL season that ended with another AFC North title in Week 17, the veteran quarterback left a good impression within the franchise. After Mike Tomlin stepped down as head coach, many thought Rodgers would retire.

Mike McCarthy’s arrival at Acrisure Stadium sparked speculation about a reunion with Rodgers again. McCarthy fueled the rumors, too, while Rodgers remains silent about his future. According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the coach believed the Steelers and Rodgers “are in a good space. ” Rodgers played 16 games in 2025, going 327 of 498 for 3,322 yards and 24 touchdowns with seven receptions. Following a tumultuous stint with the New York Jets, Rodgers bounced back with Pittsburgh.

Perhaps a reunion with the coach he won his only Super Bowl with could take him back to the top. The Steelers added wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. and running back Rico Dowdle in the offseason, putting together an intriguing offense for Rodgers to lead.
