49ers trade back, still land ideal weapon in mock draft

The 49ers have a few options late in the first round, including trading back and still snagging a player of value.

The San Francisco 49ers have a lot of flexibility with the No. 27 pick. Without any glaring needs at the moment, the team can either take the best player available, target a player of interest or even trade back if they want to wait and pick up more draft capital in the process.

For the sake of the exercise, FOX Sports' Rob Rang projected a trade for every pick of the first round. It resulted in some truly wild scenarios, but landed a great option for the 49ers overall. In Rang's mock, the 49ers traded back two spots with the Kansas City Chiefs to the No.

29 pick. While KC took San Diego State cornerback Chris Johnson with the 49ers' original pick, San Francisco drafted Texas A&M receiver KC Concepcion at No. 29.

Even after the signings of veterans Mike Evans and Christian Kirk, the 49ers have been kicking the tires on several wideouts expected to be drafted in the first round. San Francisco knows all too well the impact that Rashid Shaheed had for the Seahawks a year ago. Concepcion is a similar brand of playmaker in the receiving, running and return game.
