Tennessee Titans coach Robert Saleh was praised by Kyle Shanahan, who he worked with as the San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator in 2025.
Count Robert Saleh's former boss among the first-year Tennessee Titans coach's believers. San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan praised Saleh at the NFL league meetings in Arizona on March 30. Saleh, who was the 49ers' defensive coordinator under Shanahan from 2017-20 and again in 2025, will do a "hell of a job" in Tennessee, according to Shanahan.
Saleh coached the New York Jets from 2021-24 in between his stints in San Francisco. Shanahan doesn't think Saleh's 20-36 record in those three-plus seasons is reflective of his ability. "Robert deserves to be a head coach," Shanahan told reporters.
