Yahoo Sports

Kai Kamaka is back and his octagon return is already set for UFC Fight Night 272. Kamaka has been re-signed to the UFC and will take on Dakota Hope in a lightweight bout on Saturday's prelims at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas ( Paramount+ ). Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

Marcel Dorff was first to report the news. In his first UFC stint, Kamaka (17-7-1 MMA, 1-2-1 UFC) notched a Fight of the Night win over Tony Kelley in his debut, but went winless in his next three bouts, which led to his release. He went 6-2 under the Bellator and PFL banners, before competing for Tuff-N-Uff, where he most recently knocked out Michel da Cruz Lima in January.

Hope (11-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC), 29, will make his UFC debut. The LFA and Fury FC vet comes into the bout on a five-fight winning streak, most recently scoring a first-round TKO of Mauricio Gomez in February. The current UFC Fight Night 272 lineup includes: MAIN CARD (Paramount+, 8 p.
