Titans' Mike Borgonzi on draft: 'We're taking the best player available'

Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi met with the media at the NFL League Meeting and talked about the upcoming NFL draft.

Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi sat down with Jim Wyatt and other media personalities from the NFL League Meetings and dove into where the Titans sit just a few weeks from the start of the 2026 NFL draft. Of course, the hot topic is what the Titans will do with their fourth overall selection in the first round. Over the past few weeks, there has been much debate about which direction the Titans will go with the pick and whether positional value will outweigh overall talent.

Borgonzi’s answer addressed that. "Where we're at right now, we want to take the best player available," he said. "It depends on your roster construction, too, but where we are at, we are taking the best player available.

We are taking the best football player. " Now, those words really don’t give any insight into exactly who will hear their name called in Pittsburgh on April 23, but it also doesn’t take any names off the table. For many, this selection will come down to three players: Jeremiah Love, Rueben Bain, and David Bailey, with Love viewed by many analysts as the highest-rated of the three.

But, in terms of positional value, running back vs edge, Bain, and Bailey would win out, which is why there is so much debate. The real variable that no one outside knows is how the team evaluates prospects on their board. Every expert is different, just as every team is different, and it is likely whoever the Titans take will be at the top of their board.
