Through the first two seasons of his career, the Michigan product has just 12 catches in 14 games, and he was a healthy scratch for almost all of December and the final game of the season against the Baltimore Ravens. This all comes after the Steelers selected him in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft with the hope that he would be a focal point in their offense. In a thin wide receiver room, though, as well as a new coaching staff coming in, perhaps 2026 will be the year Wilson finally hits his stride.

Speaking at the NFL Owners Meetings, new head coach Mike McCarthy was asked about Wilson, to which he said he hopes new eyes benefit the young receiver. “I really had a great conversation with him the other day,” McCarthy said via Nick Farabaugh . “Just looking forward to working with him.

I think he’s a young man that a new system, new fresh start… I’m hoping he’s one of those guys who will benefit from it. ” As it currently stands, the Steelers have four wide receivers on their roster – DK Metcalf, Michael Pittman Jr, Roman Wilson, and Ben Skowronek. And while they will certainly add more bodies to their receiving corps, Wilson will be a name everyone is watching during OTAs and training camp as he looks to carve out a spot in the offense.
