The 20-year-old is one of seven uncapped players named by Red Roses head coach John Mitchell in a squad of 32 for the first match against Ireland on 11 April. David has been involved in England training camps previously, before the 2025 Six Nations and also in January this year and she said while winning her first cap was the goal it was not her focus.

"I just want to take each day as it comes, each of these PWR games and now going into [England] camp," David told BBC Sport. "Don't want to get ahead of myself - enjoy it, be confident, work hard and if that opportunity does come I'll be so excited. I just want to stay where my feet are and take one step at a time.

David finished as the joint top try-scorer in the PWR during 2024-25 with 16 and was named PWR breakthrough player of the season. She joined Bristol in 2024 and this season has nine tries in 13 games, having started all but one game for the club so far.

However while Bristol reached the PWR final in 2024 and semi-finals last season, this has been a "frustrating" campaign, with five wins leaving them eighth in the table yet David said it has still allowed her to work on other areas of her game. "Last year we built up a lot of momentum but it can get a little bit frustrating at times when it's not always going to go up and up," she said. "But I've really enjoyed the experiences I've got and I think maybe because we haven't been doing so well I've got the chance to develop other areas of my game.
