Scotland to host T20 tri-series before World Cup

Scotland were beaten by both Bangladesh and the Netherlands at the T20 World Cup qualifier Scotland women will play their first home fixtures since 2022 with a T20 tri-series against Bangladesh and the Netherlands in late May and early June. Kathryn Bryce's side will then travel to England for two further fixtures against unnamed opposition before this summer's T20 World Cup. All six matches in the tri-series will be played at The Grange in Edinburgh.

"I'm incredibly excited for this opportunity for us to play in my hometown of Edinburgh," Bryce said. "The last time we played there was in 2022, which feels so long ago, and I actually contracted Covid-19 at the time so ended up missing out on the series. "This is going to be the first time that I've played for Scotland in Edinburgh in my career, so it's incredibly exciting.

" Scotland and Ireland play England at Women's T20 World Cup Scotland have been drawn in Group Two at the World Cup, alongside England, Ireland, West Indies, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. They start their campaign against Ireland at Old Trafford on 13 June, before facing England at Headingley on 20 June - the first occasion the two countries have met in any kind of cricket World Cup fixture, men or women, in the UK. "These matches are hugely important as preparation for us ahead of the World Cup, and it's great to be facing strong opposition that we are also relatively familiar with," head coach Craig Wallace said.

"The games will act as important steps for us as we build towards that first game against Ireland, and the standards will be high, so we are really excited and look forward to competing and entertaining in front of a large crowd. " Scotland booked their place at the World Cup in the qualifying tournament in Nepal in February. In their only previous T20 World Cup appearance, Scotland lost all four of their group matches in the United Arab Emirates in 2024.
