This past Saturday, the promotion made its way back to Washington for UFC Seattle, where Adesanya took on Joe Pyfer in the main event. After a solid opening round, Pyfer controlled him on the mat before finishing him off with ground-and-pound strikes early in the second.
Now 36 and with five losses in his last six bouts, Adesanya still isn’t ready to walk away. He made it clear after the fight that he intends to keep competing. Bisping voiced his thoughts in a video on his YouTube channel: He made it clear that he doesn’t necessarily disagree with Adesanya’s decision but believes it might be time for him to walk away from the sport. “I wish, in a way, that Israel would’ve retired on Saturday night,” Bisping said in a video on his YouTube channel. “But he didn’t… He said he’s coming back again and again and again, and you know what, fair play to the guy.
He is taking damage, that’s a fact. He got knocked out against (Nassourdine) Imavov. He took some heavy shots against Joe Pyfer and back in the day, that wouldn’t have happened.
