Any time a cart comes out onto the field in a baseball game, something serious is going on. Ponce injured his knee trying to field a ground ball in the third inning. He went down and ended up needing a cart to get off the field.

He was the MVP in the Korea Baseball Organization last season and was a big part of the Blue Jays' rotation plans. The official word from the Blue Jays was that he was removed from the game with knee discomfort. However, the injury and the situation as a whole looked more serious.

He is awaiting results from an MRI to know what actually happened. Former Boston Red Sox outfielder and longtime Blue Jay Kevin Pillar took to social media to comment on the injury. "Donโ€™t want to speculate about Ponce but Iโ€™ve been in sports a long time I know what that looked like," wrote Pillar.

"Iโ€™m really hoping the best for him and that it isnโ€™t as serious as it looked. Waited a long time to be back in this position. " Pillar is likely referring to a major ligament tear for Ponce.
