Rumor: Dolphins expected to play NFC West team in international game
The Miami Dolphins have become accustomed to playing international games, as they've played in the second-most in the NFL since 2007.
Miami Dolphins fans have become accustomed to watching their teams play international games over the years, as they've played seven games in different countries since the NFL began their international series in 2007. While the Dolphins have played in the United Kingdom five times, Germany once and Spain once, they've yet to play in Mexico, where the NFL has played five games since 2016. However, that may be changing, as the NBC Sports Bay Area's Jennifer Lee Chan revealed on Monday that she's hearing that the Dolphins are the San Francisco 49ers ' potential opponent for the matchup in Mexico City.
According to Lee Chan, that game is expected to take place on Nov. 22 at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City with the Dolphins being the away team and the 49ers being the home team. Miami is just 2-5 in international games, but at least they want have to cross the Atlantic Ocean.
