The UFC lightweight number one contender made his sixth appearance outside of the Octagon this past Saturday since his last fight under the promotion, though none have been sanctioned MMA fights. Since then, he’s taken part in various charity events and exhibition matches, including a recent appearance at RAF 7, where he faced Georgio Poullas in a rematch after their first bout ended in a post-fight brawl back in February.

This time around, there was no controversy. Tsarukyan secured a clear decision win over Poullas, and both fighters showed respect towards each other after the match. The win put an end to their feud.

RAF wants to book a wrestling match between Arman Tsarukyan and Colby Covington Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC Tsarukyan had more than one focus heading into his match with the social media personality. Alongside Poullas, Colby Covington was also on his mind. Covington faced Dillon Danis in the co-main event and stirred up some tension during fight week by saying he used to dominate Tsarukyan in training and wanted to wrestle him next.

The back-and-forth didn’t stop there, as both fighters kept the rivalry going during the post-event press conference. Right now, though, it looks unlikely that either fighter would be cleared to compete in RAF while under UFC contract. The promotion isn’t open to letting its athletes cross over for matches outside its control.
