Maryland women’s lacrosse’s 12-0 start to the season has seen the Terps hit heights that have regularly been achieved both under head coach Cathy Reese and in the years before her. After a mixed beginning to the 2020s, the Terps seem to have risen back toward the pinnacle of women’s lacrosse — an ascension that has been recognized by their return to the top spot in the polls. Defensively, Maryland had its worst game in over a month, but it still had enough in the tank to come out on top and preserve the undefeated start. Attacker Lauren LaPointe was key to that victory — and has been key to the Terps’ overall success this season. Her 63 points on the year are 17 more than any other Terp and rank third in the Big Ten.
