Though the divorce has gotten messy, Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell made sure to share his appreciation for former LT Taylor Decker.

The biggest twist of the Detroit Lions ' offseason involved longtime franchise left tackle Taylor Decker. While his status for 2026 was in limbo after he revealed he was mulling retirement , it appeared as though Decker was set to return in 2026. Then, after announcing his intentions to return, negotiations fell through between Decker and the Lions after Decker said the organization asked him to take a pay cut.

The saga ended with Decker asking for and being granted his release . In a recent interview with Justin Rogers of Detroit Football Network , Decker shared his frustration that the Lions didn't reach out to thank him for his contributions to the franchise over his 10-year run in Detroit following his release. On Monday, Lions head coach Dan Campbell shared his appreciation for Decker at the annual league meetings in Phoenix.
