Hibs to unveil plans for training centre 'dome' upgrade

The Scottish Premiership club are set to expand and upgrade their facility near Ormiston in East Lothian.

Hibernian Football Club is set to unveil its plans to upgrade its training centre in East Lothian. Plans for the site at East Mains, near Ormiston, include a new dome-covered artificial football pitch alongside a new car park, lighting, footpath and CCTV. The Scottish Premiership club will present details of the plans at public events in the village next month as part of pre-application procedures.

Initial proposals were unveiled in December last year. The Easter Road side opened the facility on farmland in 2007 – over a year after planning permission for the project was granted . It hosts the Hibs men's, women's and youth academy sides.

Plans will be publicly exhibited in The Coalgate, on The Wynd, Ormiston, on 20 April from 16:00-20:00. A second showing will take place at the same venue on 18 May, also from 16:00-20:00.

Public comments will be welcomed before the club officially submits the plans to East Lothian Council. A design team will be on site to answer questions from attendees.
