South Carolina women's basketball will play UConn in the Final Four after not facing the Huskies in the regular season for the first time in 11 years.

For the first time in 11 years, South Carolina women's basketball did not play UConn in the regular season, yet the two teams will still match up this season. However, No. 1 seed South Carolina (35-3) will face No.

1 seed UConn (38-0) in the Final Four on April 3 (7 p. m. ET, ESPN) at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix.

South Carolina beat TCU 78-52 in the Elite Eight on March 30 in Sacramento, California. It will be the 16th meeting between South Carolina coach Dawn Staley and Geno Auriemma and the 17th all-time meeting between the Gamecocks and the Huskies.
