Bologna eye Nottingham Forest star Lorenzo Lucca Nottingham Forest man Lorenzo Lucca is one of the players poised to leave the City Ground this summer, and according to Gazzetta dello Sport , Bologna want him. The Italian striker has struggled to secure playing time at Forest since joining the club on loan in January. Lucca has scored only one goal in seven appearances for Nottingham Forest.

He had managed the same tally in 23 Napoli games in the first part of the campaign. After failing to make much of an impact at Napoli, the 25-year-old joined the Tricky Trees, hoping to bounce back. Unfortunately, his leap of faith has not been rewarded.

His move to Forest has seen him play only 120 minutes of football, with Igor Jesus and Chris Wood ahead in the pecking order. It remains unclear whether Nottingham Forest still want to sign Lucca permanently, despite his disappointing time in England. Nevertheless, Bologna will be at the front of the queue for his signature.

They have tried to sign him twice, to no avail. The third time might be the charm for the Rossoblu. Lucca is a physical specimen who leads the line impeccably, but he needs a consistent run of games, something he has not been able to get in England.

He might get that in Italy, but they may also not have the funds to pull off a permanent deal to sign the Italian international. If Nottingham Forest are in the market for a striker to provide genuine competition for Igor Jesus next season, they should be looking at David Datro Fofana. The Ivorian forward has barely been given a chance at Chelsea, despite showing flashes of pace, power and sharp movement in previous loan spells.
