Barcelona are not interested in Bernardo Silva who wants to join the Spanish side
Barcelona are not interested in Bernardo Silva who wants to join the Spanish side Barcelona, due to their financial limitations, will be rummaging through the free-agent market for top-quality players they can bring to Spotify Camp Nou. However, according to Mundo Deportivo , Barcelona are not interested in Bernardo Silva even though he will leave Manchester City for free at the end of the season. Barcelona had shown serious interest in signing him in 2022, but could not get a deal for the 31-year-old over the line.
The ‘irreplaceable’ Portuguese international reportedly wants to join Barca this summer, but the Catalan club has no plans of getting him. For one, it is hard to see where Silva fits into Barca’s starting XI. The Catalan club already boasts very strong first-team players who can keep Silva out.
Barcelona have Lamine Yamal and Roony Bardghji for the right wing and more than enough midfielders to operate in the engine room. Unsurprisingly, Silva is not on Barcelona’s shortlist with the club looking for centre-backs, full-backs, a left-winger, and a back-up goalkeeper this summer. Silva needs to read the room and move on.
At 31, this is not the time to chase a romantic move that clearly lacks substance. Barcelona simply do not need him, and more importantly, cannot prioritise him. Instead, Serie A presents a far more logical and rewarding destination.
Juventus are crying out for creativity between the lines, while AC Milan lack someone who can unlock stubborn defences. Silva’s intelligence, technical quality, and versatility would make him an instant focal point in Italy. Beyond that, the financial muscle of the Saudi Pro League and the growing appeal of MLS cannot be ignored, especially for a player approaching the latter stages of his career.
