Austin Cindric carries momentum into NASCAR off weekend in March 2026
Austin Cindric carries momentum into NASCAR's first off-weekend after a strong run at Martinsville Speedway in March 2026.
Austin Cindric had a tough start to the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season; however, he turned it around at Martinsville Speedway. On Sunday, Cindric and the No. 2 team for Team Penske finished in eighth place with 40 points.
It was an outstanding performance for the Team Penske driver. Cindric launched himself up the point standings and now sits in 18th place behind the Spire Motorsports drivers. Going into the first NASCAR off weekend of 2026, Cindric has an 18-point deficit to the final spot in the Chase.
Based on his last two performances, it wouldn't be shocking to see him in the top 16 spots soon. Cindric has been one of the most notable drivers in the NASCAR silly season cycle, but more strong performances should all but guarantee his future going into the 2027 campaign. Cindric hopes that he can carry this momentum to Bristol Motor Speedway in two weeks.
