Kyle Larson enters NASCAR off weekend looking for more speed in 2026

Kyle Larson enters NASCAR's first off weekend of the 2026 Cup Series season looking for more speed after a slow start.

Kyle Larson has not been as fast as usual through seven races of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season. Larson has struggled with speed for his standards, which is understandable given his potential. The two-time Cup Series champion believes he should be fighting for wins on a weekly basis.

Instead, Larson enters the first NASCAR off weekend looking for a boost. With 19 races left in the regular season, Larson sits ninth in the point standings. The Hendrick Motorsports driver is only 16 points away from sixth place; however, only 48 points separate him from the Chase bubble.

It might seem like a lot with 19 races left until the Chase, but Larson is used to winning races and leading laps. To this point, the driver of the No. 5 car hasn't been able to accomplish much of either.

There is time to turn it around, but Larson hopes that Bristol Motor Speedway will help kickstart his 2026 NASCAR season.
