William Byron discusses top-5 finish at Martinsville in March 2026

William Byron may not have had the car to beat; however, the No. 24 team found a way to maximize his result. On Sunday, Byron and the No.

24 team for Hendrick Motorsports finished in fifth place. It was a tough grind for Byron, who lost track position after a poor pit stop by the No. 24 crew.

Following the race, Byron talked about his top-5 finish at Martinsville. While he wishes the No. 24 car was stronger, it was a good overall result for Hendrick Motorsports, which got Chase Elliott in victory lane.

"Yeah, it was good," Byron said. "Just missing a little bit in the one part of the corner. Just trying to sort of get the entry a little bit better.
