Jed York hopes his head coach and general manager want to stick around for a lot longer.

The 2026 season marks the 10th year general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan have been with the San Francisco 49ers . So naturally, as long-tenured braintrusts enter a milestone year, the question becomes: How much longer will they stick around. 49ers owner Jed York hopes they never leave.

He told reporters at the NFL owners' meeting in Phoenix on Monday that he wants Shanahan and Lynch to stay with the organization for a "very long time. " “I want Kyle to be here for a long time. He’s been here for a long time and I want him to be here even longer," York said.

"I want JL [Lynch] to be here for a long time. " York noted that it will all come down to what each person wants to do with their lives and career in the future, whether it's coming back in the same role or "doing something else in our organization. " "I have a great relationship with both those guys," York said.

"I hope they're here, they're with me and the 49ers and our family for a very long time. " Jed York on the contract status of Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch: #49ers pic. twitter.
