Commanders' Dan Quinn gives insight into Washington's plan at center
Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn discussed moving on from Tyler Biadasz and the plan at center.
Prior to the 2026 free agency period, the Washington Commanders had well over 30 impending free agents. So far, they've retained 16 of those free agents and lost six of them to other teams. The remaining 18 free agents are still on the market.
One of the more surprising players to leave the Commanders during free agency was center Tyler Biadasz, who signed a new deal with the Los Angeles Chargers after the Commanders cut him. Head coach Dan Quinn said on Monday that they did not seek a trade for Biadasz, although he's not involved in those calls. Dan Quinn said they did not explore a trade for C Tyler Biadasz.
But important to note: Quinn isnโt involved in taking or making calls etc. Had been told previously teams didnโt want to give up a pick. โ John Keim (@john_keim) March 30, 2026 Biadasz didn't play as well in 2025 as he did in 2024, but the move was still surprising, as Nick Allegretti didn't exactly inspire confidence when he filled in for Biadasz.
Quinn indicated that Julian Good-Jones would compete for the position, but also said the position is not yet settled, and they could add someone else in the future. Quinn said as of now the C battle would be between Allegretti and Julian Good-Jones. However, Quinn said need to see what happens over the next month, whether it's adding a draft pick or someone else (possibly someone who becomes free).
