Beavers on wrong end of sweeps against Mustangs, Cougars
Mar. 30—MARSHALL, Minn. and SIOUX FALLS, S.
D. — The Bemidji State softball team saw its losing streak extend to nine games over the weekend. Playing in a pair of road doubleheaders against NSIC foes, the Beavers were swept by Southwest Minnesota State (21-13, 7-1 NSIC) in Marshall by scores of 10-2 in six innings and 8-1 on Saturday.
One day later, Sioux Falls (19-14, 7-1 NSIC) took the two-game set against BSU, rolling to shutouts of 6-0 and 8-0. Bemidji State had just one extra-base hit in the four-game weekend — Morgan Benedict hit a double and later scored a run against the Mustangs in the 8-1 loss. Bemidji State is now 6-25 this season an 0-8 in conference games.
The Beavers are slated to host Minot State for a doubleheader at 1 p. m. on April 3, either at Chet Anderson Stadium or the BSU softball field.
