Edwards was slated to be a starter for Minnesota's game against the Mavericks, but had to be replaced by Mike Conley at the last second.

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards was set to make his return to the court on Monday — but that return hit a slight delay. Edwards, who has been out for six games with a knee injury, was originally listed as questionable on Monday. And shortly before tipoff against the Dallas Mavericks, Edwards was named as a member of the Wolves’ starting lineup .

But then, at that tipoff, Edwards was nowhere to be found. Instead, Mike Conley had to fill in at the last second because Edwards was late, per The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski . Anthony Edwards did not start in his return on Monday after reportedly arriving late to the floor.

Conley had picked up his first foul right before. It’s unclear exactly why Edwards was late. The guard was warming up with the rest of the team ahead of the game, and, based on the team’s social media graphics, was explicitly supposed to be in the starting lineup.
