The 2-1 win at home was a delightful fixture that saw good football and some great goals. However, the mostly pleasant night was stained due to the home fans booing one of their own players, Leroy Sané.
His German teammates have stood up for Sané against the disparaging action from their own fans. Sané was subbed in towards the end of the game to inject energy and turn the tide in favor of the Germans. The scoreline at 1-1 needed some extra pace and trickery to get past an enthusiastic Ghanian defense.
However, the German fans surprisingly took to one of the worst action from the home crowd, booing their own player as he came on. While booing your own player almost always sucks, Sané wasn’t even given a chance! He was booed as he came on.
Well, Nagelsmann’s choice went on to be proven right as the winger assisted the winning goal for his country, making the actions of the home crowd look all the more distasteful. Per a report by Sport1 (as captured by @iMiaSanMia ), goalkeeper Alexander Nübel rightly called the boos “absolute nonsense. ” Spot on Alex.
