Iowa women's basketball frosh Addie Deal entering transfer portal

After just the one season in Iowa City, Iowa women's basketball freshman guard Addie Deal announced her intentions to enter the transfer portal on Monday afternoon. A 6-foot guard out of Mater Dei High School in California, Deal was the Hawkeyes' prized five-star signee in its 2025 class. But, Deal is now set to depart Iowa after just 34 games played and three starts.

Deal averaged 5. 1 points, 1. 6 assists and 1.

2 rebounds per game on 39. 4% field goal shooting and 29. 7% 3-point shooting.

The Cali product seemed like she was trending toward a breakout with midseason performances in wins over Oregon and Ohio State . Deal scored 18 points against the Ducks and then a career-high 20 points against the Buckeyes.
