What move does PFF like least from the Vikings in free agency?
The Minnesota Vikings brought back an aging defender in free agency, a move that PFF isn't particularly fond of.
The Minnesota Vikings were well above the salary cap heading into the 2026 offseason. That led them to approach free agency conservatively, valuing bringing back older players rather than overpaying for free agents. One of these moves included bringing back linebacker Eric Wilson on a three-year, $22.
5 million deal. Wilson was one of the more valuable players on the Vikings' defense in 2025, generating 37 pressures and a team-high 52 "stops", per PFF. However, he turns 31 this year, making the multi-year commitment a bit of a surprise.
Zoltรกn Buday of PFF says the signing is his least favorite among the Vikings' moves this offseason. The Vikings re-signed Wilson to a three-year contract worth $22. 5 million.
Although that makes him just the 30th-highest-paid linebacker in the league, it might still be an overpay, considering Wilsonโs limited skill set. In 2025, he earned a 36. 7 PFF coverage grade, which ranked just 71st out of 80 qualifying linebackers.
