Penn State women’s volleyball to play at Wrigley Field in 2026 season
The Penn State Nittany Lions’ women’s volleyball team will play the Kentucky Wildcats at the iconic Wrigley Field next season.
There is something special about straying away from the norm in sports and playing games or hosting large spectacles at iconic or rare venues. We see this in the NHL, where they host the annual Winter Classic, held at random MLB, NFL, and college football stadiums. The MLB also began holding an annual Field of Dreams game, where two teams duke it out near the iconic film set.
Penn State women’s volleyball will now get a chance to participate in an alternate-site game next season. While they won’t play on a historic movie set, they will take center stage on national television against the Kentucky Wildcats , taking them on at Wrigley Field , the home of the MLB’s Chicago Cubs . They finished the fall campaign 19-13, so they should be a big draw against the Wildcats, who dominated the field en route to a 30-3 record last year.
