Jaguars’ 3 strongest position groups entering the 2026 season

Yahoo Sports

While much of the focus this offseason has been on what the Jaguars have lost, several areas of the roster remain clear strengths.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been on the receiving end of a lot of criticism this offseason. Not only were the Jaguars relatively quiet in free agency, a tight salary cap forced them to let Devin Lloyd and Travis Etienne walk. Around the league, the consensus seems to be that Jacksonville lost too much talent by losing Lloyd and Etienne.

And while there is no denying that it was a blow to lose them, there is also no denying that the Jags are still being underrated. Overall, the roster is still solid, and while there are positions needing to be addressed, there are still far more strengths than weaknesses. Multiple position groups are in good shape for Jacksonville, but these are three of the strongest.

Wide Receiver Arguably the strongest position for Jacksonville is at receiver, headlined by a trio of all-stars in Jakobi Meyers, Brian Thomas Jr. , and Parker Washington. While his rookie season was cut short due to injury last year, Travis Hunter showed serious flashes of greatness; he is expected to primarily play on defense in 2026 (more on that later), but he'll still occasionally contribute on offense as a wide receiver.

The Jaguars could use depth behind these four, and it seems possible that James Gladstone could draft someone in a later round to provide it. But on the whole, these four are a dominant and versatile group, capable of making explosive plays. Fans can continue to expect big things from the wide receiver room in 2026.
