Liverpool planning bold move to replace Alexander Isak Liverpool are reportedly planning a bold move and it's one that could replace Alexander Isak already. Correio da Manha reports that Liverpool are in the market for Luis Suarez of Sporting CP. In fact, they're apparently accelerating their interest in an effort to get the deal done quickly.
Suarez has been in sensational form for Sporting this season, scoring 33 times across all competitions. There will be more to come, too, of course. Newcastle United are also pursuing this one and that does make sense.
They're in desperate need of a goalscorer after neither Yoanne Wissa nor Nick Woltemade were able to fill the void left by Alexander Isak. However, it's notable that Liverpool - the team that signed Isak - are the ones battling them. It actually reads as though.
Suarez is something of a replacement for the Swede, whose difficult debut campaign has been interrupted by a leg break. Is this a sign, then, that Liverpool aren't willing to go all-in on Isak? They don't know how their record signing will recover from his injury, after all, and it's entirely possible that they're chasing a striker to fill the void left by the Swede, much as Newcastle are.
