Robert Kraft wants Drake Maye, Christian Gonzalez contract extensions
Patriots owner Robert Kraft is confident that the team will re-sign Drake Maye and Christian Gonzalez to long-term extensions.
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft knows how lucky the team is to have Drake Maye at quarterback and Christian Gonzalez at cornerback. Maye was the 2025 runner-up for the NFL MVP award, behind Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, while Gonzalez ascended the ladder as arguably the best cornerback in the league. Those are two high-end franchise players that teams typically build around.
Gonzalez is entering the fourth year of his rookie deal and is currently extension-eligible. Maye, on the other hand, is only in Year 3, but the team must already be thinking about backing up the Brinks truck for his inevitably massive contract extension. Kraft made his opinion heard when fielding questions from media members on Monday.
โWeโre lucky to have those two players and I hope and believe theyโll be with us for the long term," said Kraft, via MassLive's Mark Daniels.
