Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski gives update on RT Kaleb McGary

The Atlanta Falcons were forced to get by without starting right tackle Kaleb McGary for the entire 2025 season after the former first-round pick injured his knee during training camp. Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski gave an update on McGary at the 2026 NFL league meeting. Stefanski told reporters that there is hope that McGary could be ready for training camp, per ESPN's Marc Raimondi.

Considering the veteran offensive lineman was injured on August 20, it would be a surprise if he wasn't back in time. Since the team did not re-sign Elijah Wilkinson, who started all 17 games at right tackle last season, most assumed McGary would be good to go for 2026. However, while Stefanksi sounded optimistic on McGary's return, he wasn't willing to give a timeline for quarterback Michael Penix Jr.

"There are obviously timelines when it comes to injuries, but we are all different," said Stefanski. "So, we want to see how he looks in a week, how he looks in a month. " Stefanski was asked if he thought Penix would be ready to go physically Week 1.
