According to ESPN, Mike Vrabel and Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni previously held preliminary discussions about practicing together in the preseason.

Speaking Monday at the NFL Annual League Meeting, Sirianni confirmed that the two teams will indeed hold joint practices. While the Patriots’ full preseason schedule has not yet been finalized, the session will likely coincide with a preseason game at Gillette Stadium, following the typical NFL structure for joint practices. Joint practices were a key part of New England’s training camp last year in their first season under Vrabel.

The Patriots hosted the Washington Commanders for a practice ahead of their preseason opener before traveling to Minnesota for two practices with the Vikings. “The goal is just to be able to put the identity out on the field against another team,” Vrabel said last year regarding the practices, “to put the fundamentals that we put out there, the installation, to be able to do it against another defense, to be able to adjust to different play styles of players, players that maybe are longer or quicker or stronger, just different play styles of each player throughout this league. ” New England also previously hosted Philadelphia for joint practices in 2024 during Drake Maye’s rookie season under former head coach Jerod Mayo.

The Patriots’ voluntary offseason program is set to begin April 20, with training camp expected to open in late July.
