Vote For Your March 2026 Reading Player Of The Month

Yahoo Sports

Up for the vote this month are two centre-backs, a couple of attacking midfielders and a striker.

March was a very mixed month indeed for Reading – although, to be fair, I feel like I say that every month this season. The Royals earned a return of three wins, two losses and a draw, but that block of six league games included some of the best and worst of what we’ve seen under Leam Richardson so far. There were comeback wins (Luton Town away, Burton Albion away), a comfortable victory at the end of the month (Wigan Athletic at home), two seriously poor defeats on the road (Mansfield Town away, Stevenage away) and an encouraging but frustrating draw (Plymouth Argyle at home).

Amid all that, there were some individual standouts. Drawing on goals, assists, our Player Ratings and our man of the match voting, we’ve put together a shortlist of five players for the March player of the month award (although, yes, there’s an obvious favourite). Those five will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Jack Marriott , who won February’s award at a canter with 61% of the vote.

Benn Ward (my pick) was second on 24%, ahead of Charlie Savage (10%) and Paudie O’Connor (6%). So without any further ado… Kamari Doyle Average rating: 6. 17 / Man of the match awards: 2nd (Burton Albion A), 2nd (Wigan Athletic H) Another bright month for Doyle, who was again an important creative outlet for Reading.

He provided one assist (for the next man on this shortlist, again Wigan) and scored an excellent equaliser from distance against Burton. Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan Average rating: 6. 17 / Man of the match awards: 1st (Luton Town A), 1st (Wigan Athletic H) Reading were put into a mightily sticky situation when Marriott was sidelined with a hefty injury, but Long Kelvin’s stepped up.
