Plaquemine Green Devils fell to West Feliciana 9-3 in a district baseball game, despite an early lead.

Plaquemine came up short in a crucial District 6-4A battle when West Feliciana dug itself out of an early deficit to defeat the Green Devils 9-3 last week in Bains. Five runs in the bottom of the fourth enabled Plaquemine to take a crucial victory in the district race. Plaquemine took the lead in the first inning.

Christian Boudreaux scored on a fast ball and Reese Laprairie reached home off a Slade Sparks RBI. One run in the bottom of the second and another two in the third put the Saints in the lead. A two-run single, a one-run triple to left and a run on a fastball put West Feliciana ahead 8-2 at the end of four innings.

A Reese Laprairie double on a line drive to center drove home a run to cut into the Green Devil deficit in the sixth inning. In non-district action, PHS piled eight runs in the bottom of the fifth to stop Assumption for an 11-4 victory. Boudreaux, Chris Lee were among the other standouts for the Green Devils.

Plaquemine hosts Erath at 6 p. m. Thursday, April 2.
